The Feeling Birmingham Gig Review
Birmingham Carling Academy - 7 March 2008
More Feeling stuff from La Tania here
Three thousand eager punters packed in to the Carling Academy on Friday night to see the return of The Feeling as they kicked off the first night of their UK Tour promoting the new No 1 album Join With Us. A hugely mixed crowds of all ages and genres saw a great set with all the big tracks from 12 Stops And Home plus a fair bit of new stuff too. See the set list after the pics plus bouncy YouTube footage of Love It When You Call.
Tonight's cover version was a brilliant rendition of Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder's Electric Dreams - with the younger members of the audience looking a little confused as all the older crowd joined in enthusiastically and seemed to know all the words. The encore saw the band march right through the crowd and mosh pit dressed up in Sergeant Peppers inspired performing band outfits and played We Can Dance the "hidden" track at the end of the new album.
We met up with Dan's brother Jim after the gig but he couldn't confirm any news about the rumoured gig in The Alps. Still the message is "something may be happening". Watch this space...
