Le Praz Gondola to Close a week early (Forêt Chair Open)

The Praz Gondola will close on Sunday 14 April a week earlier than originally planned so work on its replacement can start immediately so the new lift, Alpinium building and new underground multi-storey car park can open on time for 7 December 2019 (talk about a tight project timescale when the extra week is needed!).

The Forêt Chairlift will be open instead for access from Le Praz along with the free shuttle bus for pedestrians.

The Tourist Office will also be closed from 14 April.

FLY COURCHEVEL 2019 Programme – Weekend of 30/31 March 2019

A weekend of aerobatics, demonstrations and a chance to experience THAT Courchevel Altiport landing/take off for a VERY reasonable price.

Was it only around €70 for a quick demo flight if you got a group together last year? Someone will be along shortly to confirm… (a comparison to the VT Zip Wire charge would be interesting!).

New La Tania Piste – Public Consultation Details

Spotted on a tree near the Tennis Court in La Tania is notice of a public consultation regarding the new piste through the forest down to La Tania – to the skiers left hand side of Folyères.

This consultation process is part of the impact assessment work that is required as part of the planning process. The Investigative Commissioner will be available as follows:
Wednesday 27 March 14:00-18:00 Grandzeta building next to the La Tania Medical Centre.
Monday 15 April 08:30 – 12:30 Grandzeta building next to the La Tania Medical Centre.
Friday 26 April 14:00 – 18:00 Courchevel Mairie in Saint-Bon.

Good to see this investment going in to La Tania, we just hope that it is in addition to keeping the outdoor swimming pool & the tennis court, the village centre & bus stop area being smartened up and a proper solution for access to the chalet area above Grand Bois put in place – before they even think about starting the Moretta Village development building work on the Gondola Car Park area which will cause a lot of disruption – we do get a new Chairlift then though!

Today’s Piste du Jour – The often overlooked Mur (& Cave des Creux)

Perfectly groomed slope skiing this morning and every lift and piste open in the Courchevel and La Tania valley – even Saint Bon (except for the odd area for competition / training use that is closed to the public).

Across the 3 Valleys apart from areas around the Cime Caron and Masse 2 lifts which are closed for technical reasons (Masse 2 will re-open soon) the only significan pistes that are closed are the black Tétras and Léo Lacroix pistes that always gets a lot of sun. The very low Villages piste down to Les Allues is also currently officially closed.

Mur and Cave des Creux were simply delicious this morning…
