La Tania does football – The England Tournament Blog
How many years of hurt?
The #EnglandAway Tournament Blog documenting our travels and misery watch the England National Football Team away from the ski season. The Ski Blog is at www.latania.co.uk/blog and there's more football stuff at La Tania does football...
Is this the best World Cup ever?
Obviously not talking about performances from England (and Spain, Portugal etc) but for pure football entertainment watching 3 matches a day either on the beach or in a bar in a country with such a passion for the game – can’t see it being bettered.
And after the first game most of the refereeing has been pretty good and let the games flow – some of the pace and quality of teams has been exceptional.
Thought today’s fixtures were actually quite dull but Iran and Ghanas performances superb….

Rio – and the World Cup party continues…
Time to now enjoy some football – we’ve managed to get tickets sorted for games at the MaracanĂ£ Stadium for Russia v Belgium and for France v Ecuador.
Will be a strange atmosphere in Belo on our day trip on Tuesday – expect England fans will carry on with a big party and fantastic support at least at the start of the game – let’s see if players respond.
If Hodgson makes too many changes and we win then no doubt he’ll be criticised for not using that team selection earlier – he can’t win. Ultimately we lost to 2 teams higher up in the rankings than us – by the same measure we should beat Costa Rica – we’ll see…….
Anyway – Skylab restaurant view yesterday was pretty good and bars spilling in to the street as Rio did Friday night…
And arrival in to Rio’s local airport…

Too much analysis of yesterday’s game…
If you’d watched us in South Africa you know we’re improving and with younger players. That’s all.
Welcome to Rio – The World Cup Party Continues…
