Snow outlook for the week ahead

After the fantastic early snow conditions which saw Val Thorens open a week early and a great pic of Combe Pylones off Saulire from the lift company workers (below) it looks like a mild week ahead.

Most of the snow below 1800m has disappeared as predicted, but it is only mid November and things should cool down by next weekend with some more unsettled weather.

Higher up however the base is starting to form and there’s a decent amount of cover. Some snow cannons have been in operation higher up and some mounds now appearing, lower down there have been some tests but they’re not going to be getting in to full flow until the temperatures cool down, hopefully the last week in November.
