La Tania Opening Day for Winter 2008/9

This is still under discussion, S3V and ESF bosses are on holiday (apparently). La Tania Mayor is aware of the issue from the Tourist Office and there's a big meeting on 6th June so hopefully a decision then.

 

More Flights On Sale For Next Season

Jet2.com put their Winter programme on sale on Friday (16/5). Flying to Chambéry from Belfast, Edinburgh, Leeds / Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle. Also to Geneva from Manchester, Leeds / Bradford and new for 2008/9, Blackpool!

ThomsonFly flights for 2008/9 are on sale with flights to Grenoble from Coventry (Sat) & Bournemouth (Sat) and also to Geneva from Doncaster / Sheffield (Thu/Sun plus Wed/Fri/Sat at peak times).

Snowjet flights to Chambéry for 2008/9 from Gatwick (Sat/Sun), Stansted (Sat), Bristol (Sat) and Manchester (Sat) are out. NB: Chambéry is only about an hour to La Tania.

easyJet Winter flights are rumoured to be out very soon - a month earlier than last year. Will update the site as soon as we hear. The main so called "full service" airlines are bookable up to almost a year in advance so flights from BA, Air France, BMI and Swiss are also on sale.

 

New Improvement for 2008/9

The main news in the Courchevel area is a new piste from the top of Pralong & Biollay chairs straight down to the Suisse chair and more snow making above La Tania:

The new piste follows a similar route to the old Super Pralong drag lift from a few years ago and was a popular easy off piste run in the usual route up to Saulire using Biollay and Suisse with no need to remove skis.

New snow cannons are to be installed on both the Bouc Blanc (red) and Boulevard des Arolles (blue) pistes which link 1850 over to the top of the La Tania gondola from which there is already snow cannons all the way down to resort thus guaranteeing the link over from Courchevel.

 

Lift Pass Prices for 2008/9

Next season prices now released: 6 day adult (that's over 13!) Courchevel pass up to €182 and Three Valleys €225 (from €178 and €220 this year). Three Valleys season pass stays under the thousand euro mark at €970 (up from €950).

 

Apartments For Sale in La Tania

Erna Low are releasing 8 fully refurbished apartments in the Grand Bois on a buy to let / lease back arrangement, prices start around the £130k mark. More here
